Texcal Energy Mahato Inc. is dedicated to safeguarding personnel and assets from potential major hazards like fire and explosions. Aligned with the Company’s HSSE Management System, emergency preparedness, and readiness based on Emergency Response and Crisis Management Procedures undergo regular review, including assessing personnel competency and equipment readiness.

The HSSE Department organized Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training & Fire Emergency Drill on 25 November 2023 to enhance personnel competency in Fire Safety and Emergency Response. The event enlisted experienced Fire Safety Trainers from the National Company Level with a background in Fire Emergency Response in the Oil and Gas sector in Riau Province.

The training and fire drill emphasized Basic Fire Safety and Fire Response, employing tools such as Fire Extinguishers, Fire Blankets, Firefighter Suits, and Supplied Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). The drill conducted at the Early Production Facility PB Site, simulated a fire scenario to assess personnel skills and equipment readiness during an emergency response.

During the training, instructors covered fundamental aspects of fire safety, including the Fire Triangle Concept, Types of Fire Extinguishers and Extinguishing Media, and the minimum standards for Fire Response Equipment and Fire Attack equipment. Following the training, a fire drill was executed to evaluate personnel skills and equipment reliability during a fire emergency response.

Viqi Kurniawan as HSSE Manager of Texcal Energy Mahato Inc. said that, “The key point of emergency response is readiness. Personnel are our main asset. Therefore, emergency response preparedness must be prioritized and trained regularly. Improving personnel training and equipment reliability must be addressed in emergency management.”
