Mr. Irshad Fajar, Drilling Team Lead of Texcal has been invited as Judge for the Oil Rig Design Competition (ORDC) of PETROLIDA 2023 on 19th May 2023 which held in Society of Petroleum Engineers Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November Surabaya Student Chapter (STE ITS SC) with the theme “Innovating Sustainable Oil Platform to Strengthen Energy Security and Maximize Energy Potential” which is very relevant with today’s demand of sustainable energy optimization and towards energy transition. This competition has been attended by eight (8) teams from various universities in Indonesia that competed to present their design of semi-submersible rig. There are three (3) stages of evaluation competition, which are technical report evaluation, design presentation evaluation, and rig model evaluation.
Overall, university students’ participants really gave their best to present their ideas on how to build and design semi-submersible rig with the most technical optimum, sustainable operation, and economic ways without jeopardizing the safety aspect. Judges had given the questions, input, and feedback to each team for their design improvement based on Industrial Standard and best practices as per Oil & Gas industry. Hopefully, all the participants and university students could gain the knowledge and technical-know-how feedback from all the judges, since they are young generation & future leader to continue our Legacies.
