Part of Texcal Mahato EP FZCO HSSE Q1 2023 Programs, HSSE has conducted the “Level One Emergency Simulation” together with relevant stakeholders such as the Local Health Service (Puskesmas) and the Local Police (Polsek). This Level One Emergency Response Organization immediately is activated on Sunday, 19th March 2023. The event was triggered by a malfunction of the brake system to control the traveling block on a Drilling Rig while running job in the 3.5″ Drilling Pipe, thus affected 4 Floormen, 1 Rigger, 1 Driller and involving 1 Directional Driller from a service company on the Rig Floor. The Drilling Rig Superintendent had reported this incident to HSSE Department. HSSE Department and OSC (On Scene Commander) immediately activated the Emergency Response Team as part of Emergency Organization.

Mr. Viqi Kurniawan as the HSSE Manager said that the Level One Emergency Simulation Activity was one of the Company’s effort to approach awareness and alertness in the aspect of Safety and Security. Furthermore, not only the safety factor, but also the alertness of every worker involved on scene of the situation.

“All functions within the Company already have roles and responsibilities, so during this simulation, we are successfully re-sharpening each function responsibility and roles. These includes the alertness of on-site team when handling victims and coordination with the on-site paramedic, Puskesmas and Polsek, The flow process of coordination and communication is an important aspect to maintain the validity of the data which will be conveyed to all relevant stakeholders”.

In addition, to the heroic actions at the scene, intense coordination and communication were carried out between the personnel of each function in the Company and related stakeholders.

The HSSE team always try to maintain the reliability of all Safety & Security equipment and conduct periodic maintenance and monitoring to ensure the readiness of equipment in emergency situations.
