Texcal Energy Mahato Inc.’s working area in Petapahan village, Tapung district of Kampar regency – Riau, always strive to develop its local counterparts as part of TexcaI’s social responsibilities. With that in mind, when the initiative from SKK Migas to hold National Capacity Forum in 2023 for Sumbagut area (where Riau Province is located) in Batam also, among others, targeted that local Micro Small Enterprises (UMKMs) will be facilitated in the Halal certification programme, then Texcal proposed 2 (two) UMKMs that are under its care to also enrolled in this program.
The new Halal certificate issued by Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH) and has been endorsed by Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) is replacing the old halal certificate issued by MUI for all products mostly consumer goods or F&B products. The process to be halal certified also subject to be audited by Sucofindo and very time-consuming since the auditors need to visit the factory/ workshop where the products made. There were more than 5 (five) UMKMs proposed by various KKKS to be Halal certified in the Batam’s National Capacity Forum, however, only 4 (four) UMKMs finally succeeded in obtaining the Halal certificates and 2 (two) of them are CV. Aldi Multi Abadi and Ulie Oleh-Oleh Kampar under TEMI’s. The ceremony in handing over the halal certificates to the respected UMKMs was held during the gala dinner session at Radisson Hotel, Batam, on July 13, 2023, which were attended by the Governor of Riau Province, Mr. Syamsuar, and Deputy of SKK Migas, Mr. Rudi Satwiko.
